When Nvidia talks about AI factories, what it really means is high-performance and secure data centers designed to “manufacture intelligence”.
This has driven attention to the fact that the niche industry that lies at the intersection of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Semiconductors is the future.
This is because AI is of course seeping into all parts of our lives.
We live in the era of ChatGPT, not Google Search, which has spun the development of Google Notebook LM for research papers, and more recently, Meta’s Notebook Llama (Razzaq, 2024), which is the other story that caught my attention.
And the semiconductor industry is also an industry that cannot be ignored, given the need of consumers to rely on electronic devices, from phones and PCs to even cars that require semiconductor chips.
No wonder NVIDIA’s stock price hit a record high earlier this year in June, because of people’s increasing demand for their Blackwell chip which is an AI supercomputer chip.
Thus, these two industries, rather their intersection, is here to stay and flourish, because of the potential this niche industry has to transform our world.
